We are happy to inform that Two contemporary French films will be screened as per below schedule.
8 June, 5 PM
Eden /Dir. Mia Hansen-Løveavec
At the beginning of the 90s, French electronic music was in full effervescence. Paul, a DJ, takes his first steps in the Parisian night scene and creates with his best friend the duo "Cheers". They will find their public and will play in the biggest clubs of the capital. It is the beginning for them of a euphoric, dizzy, dangerous and ephemeral rise. It is also the sentimental course of a young man who accumulates love stories and who does not manage to build. Eden tries to revive the euphoria of the 90s and the history of the French Touch: this generation of French artists who continue to shine throughout the world.
9th June, 5 PM
Le Concours/ Dir. Claire Simon
The entrance exam to the FEMIS, the famous film school, was filmed for the first time. From the arrival of the candidates to the jury's deliberations, Claire Simon questions the relationship between generations and the difficult selection process that our contemporary societies organize. It's the day of the competition: the aspiring filmmakers cross the heavy gate of the school for the first, and perhaps the last, time. Each one dreams of cinema, but also of success. All hopes are allowed, all anxieties too. The young people dream and doubt. The juries wonder and look for their heirs.
